Dauphin Island . . . .

. . . is a beautiful barrier island on the Gulf of Mexico, located 33 miles from Mobile, AL and is accessible by car via the Dauphin Island Bridge. Dauphin Island is a family-oriented community offering guests numerous outdoor activities including beach-combing, fishing,  swimming, biking, and typical beach activities.

Dauphin Island has no high-rise condos, no stoplights or traffic, just a  two-lane road down a white sandy beach . . . it is reminiscent of the beach towns of the 1950's.

The island also features several interesting historic sites such as the Little Red School House which was built in 1898, historic Fort Gains which was originally built in 1821, and St. Agnes Church, one of the oldest churches in the state, which was originally built in 1709.
